Air India signed a long-term agreement with f:wz

April, 2009

After an intensive and detailed evaluation Air India, a big international carrier, based in Mumbai, announced its decision for a long-term agreement with f:wz as their preferred system provider for their operation department.

Air India based its decision mainly on the leading technology and functionality of the flywize: flight planning system as well as on the significant saving potential demonstrated by f:wz-experts.

Another major issue for Air India is the growing responsibility, when it comes to issues of global environment and greenhouse effects.

“Our field of industry must raise its awareness of shared responsibility for climate protection,“ argues Arvind Jadhav, Chairman & Managing Director of Air-India. “To us, environmental consciousness is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. And it was also one of the reasons why we chose flywize.“

Air India has 122 airplanes in service and 15.000 employees. It serves over a dozen Indian cities from its Mumbai base as well as a global network of over thirty destinations in Africa, the Asia Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and the Persian Gulf. The company recently decided that Frankfurt will be its main hub in Europe, a move that comes as it prepares to join the Star Alliance.
