The composition of the f:wz executive team brings together individuals who have significant expertise in flight planning, air operations, cost analysis, communications systems, software development, consulting, and systems integration. Working as a closely knit team the executives lead a company that is able to integrate these unique capabilities and company resources to produce software solutions and business strategies focused on delivery of sound financial solutions to enhance and modernize customer air operations.
Raimund Zopp
Founder & Senior Advisor
Raimund started the company initially as a flight planning consultancy in the late 1980’s while flying as a commercial airline pilot for Austrian Airlines. During this period the company developed one of the first commercially available PC-based flight planning solutions and won the contract award to provide flight planning solutions for Austrian Airlines. Re-branded as flugwerkzeuge (f:wz) in 2001, under his leadership the company has grown into the organization, as seen today, producing optimal flight planning solutions for the airline industry. During the company’s growth period, Raimund continued to fly as an Austrian Airlines as a captain on the A330 and A340 fleet. His extensive knowledge of the airline industry allowed him to become one of the true entrepreneurs in the development of flight-planning tools. Raimund is an acknowledged expert in cost-optimization and is much sought after to provide consulting services to airlines and aircraft manufacturers. During his airline career Raimund consulted as a member of the Austrian Civil Aviation Authorities accident investigation team. In 2007, after 30 years (16.000 flighthours) of flight duties, Raimund elected to retire from Austrian Airlines to concentrate his time to the continued development of f:wz. Today his focus is firmly on the direction and management of f:wz operations and the continued development and expansion of the company. Raimund received his Engineering degree from the Technical School for Aviation, Vienna, Austria.
Peter Radler
Chief Technology Officer & Founder
Peter is the chief architect behind the design and development of the f:wz flight planning solution: mfs:2. Together with Raimund they built the foundation of the system based upon the needs of Austrian Airlines. From this beginning they have grown the system into the current solution. Peter leads the f:wz development team and spearheads new product developments.
Gregor Resch
Chief Systems Architect & Founder
Gregor developed his expertise in IT systems during the founding of a software development company in the mid-1980s while flying as a pilot with Austrian Airlines. Collaborating with Raimund and Peter during this period he then merged his company into f:wz. Gregor continues to fly as a B777 Captain with Austrian Airlines where he uses his first hand airline experience to continuously develop leading edge airline operational solutions for implementation into the f:wz system. Responsible for all f:wz systems and core architecture, he also ensures that the mfs system software is consistently reliable and secure. Gregor attended the Technical University of Vienna.
Christoph Prinz
CMO
Christoph’s day to day focus is on business development and marketing. His responsibilities include amongst others: market research, strategy finding, contract negotiations, overall branding and positioning of f:wz as well as the development and management of f:wz's customer and partnership network. Currently he's establishing a new f:wz Mid East office and increasing the international consultancy resources. Prior to joining f:wz in 2000, Christoph enhanced his business skills while leading international business development for Internet-based companies such as blaxxun interactive of San Francisco, U.S.A and Munich, Germany. Christoph graduated from the "College für Betriebswirtschaftslehre" and holds a degree in Business Administration; he is an MBA candidate (2009) at the Danube University Krems.
Maria Meerjanssen
Project Manager
Maria is responsible for the day to day direction of the f:wz engineering team. Together with Peter she manages daily operation and project structure. Maria brings to f:wz many years of experience in the design and programming of computer systems for airlines and a proven leadership in IT project management. Maria studied at the Technische Fakultät der Universität Erlangen/Nuremberg, Germany where she graduated with a Master degree in Computer Science.
